Mother's Day

On April 24th, I returned back to work full time.  I had a mini mental break down the day before and the morning of my return.  I don't know what I was really upset about.  I know my mother-in-law, Heidi, was going to take great care of Maeve.  I guess I was worried I was going to miss something, a smile, a laugh, a hug, or something more major.
Who would want to miss this?!

OR THIS?

OR THIS?!

It still is a concern, but i think I have been able to be more realistic now about it.
So now I wear a new hat, working mom.  So far it has been manageable, but it's hard!!  It's hard to find time to cook and clean and grocery shop and exercise and weed and garden and feed Maeve and do tummy time and give bathes and read books and do laundry (lots!) and have time with Josh and have time for friends and family!!  I think my strategy is three fold, organize, multi-task, and understand.  So far so good, but there is definite room for  improvement!!

This past Sunday was my first Mother's Day.

Saturday I spent with my own mother at a nursery and park...

My Mom and Maeve
and then I went for a walk with my other new Mom friend, Jess, and her daughter Lillian.

Afterwards, we met Shana's daughter, Madeline.

Josh was amazingly sweet and took me out to eat for a date night on Saturday.
Date night!
Then, Sunday we spent the morning hiking in French Creek.

Maeve is a great hiker!

Then we went to the Duryea Downhill Mountain bike race.  It was a great event and I am so happy to have something so close to home!

Then we went to my dad's for his pool opening!  Maeve took her first "dip" in the pool.  She cried and then we got her changed!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MOMS!!

2 month check up

Maeve went to her 2 month check up on May 9th.  It was a bitter sweet appointment.  The doctor (Dr. Tiffany Sergi) was very nice.  I was so excited to see how big Maeve was getting.  She measured 24 inches tall (90th%) and 11 lbs., 12 oz (75th%).  I knew she was growing and I love her neck rolls.  However, it was also the appointment she started getting her shots.  Maeve, nor myself, handled them well.  She cried, I cried.  She was fine, it was just a cry I had not heard before.
Note the bandaids on each chunky thigh

Poor thing...

I was told to give her Tylenol, but I wanted to see how she did first.  She actually wasn't too bad.  The next day she woke up with a smile....

and was only a little fussy throughout the day...

Videos of Maeve

Here are some videos of Maeve during her daily routine.  She is becoming more and more like a person everyday.

She has very active legs, which we call crazy legs.  I am pretty sure she is going to skip walking and just run.  She is also cooing and smiling at you.

She is such a big girl and sits in her Bumbo.  Her neck control gets better everyday.  She is still figuring out her hands though...
