Renovations...

So things are not done, but then again, are they ever?  But I thought since I am finally over the flu and getting over the walking pneumonia I had this week (yes, i was sick, very sick), I would post the pictures I have of renovations.  Josh and I love the new house, and the previous owner really did make it easy to move into the house.  The house was well maintained and really had nothing to repair when we moved in.  The only things we wanted to do was cosmetic improvements. So, we painted each room on the first and second floor.  We took out a closet on the first floor, right at the main entrance, to open up the living room, and installed a showerhead in the upstairs bathroom, which previously catered to bubble bathers...nice. So here are some before and after shots.

We (again, mostly Josh and Kellen) have been working hard on the grooming of the outdoors.  My mom came over and helped my prune some trees, but the 50mph winds left her with a fat lip, so we called it quits.  Josh has been re-establishing a logging road on the property which runs through the woods when the property was a Christmas tree farm.  There is still a lot of work to be done and we are joyfully working hard at it.  Josh has been working really hard and Kellen has also been coming over to help.  They both have been great and am so grateful to have the work ethics of a McElroy on my side.  The weather is starting to get nice so we are also starting to plan our garden for this year.  Lots of exciting things are happening and our to do list seems to only be getting bigger!!

In other great news, we had our first guests stay over.  Casey and Tony payed us a visit on Friday into Saturday, before they departed to New Hope for a wedding.  I am looking forward to them bringing Zeke with them for a McElroy/ McCloud campout!! Woohoo!!

New Adventure

So most of you know that Josh and I have purchased a new property in Boyertown, our home town. It is only a mile (1.1 miles to be exact) from Josh's parents.  The property is a farmhouse built in 1861.  It also has a bank barn, 2 car garage, a 1 car garage (which we call the shed), chicken coop, and an outhouse on the property. The property is on 29 acres.  It is mostly wooded, but also has 50 apples trees, meadow and mowed grass. It is so beautiful and we have been having a great time exploring the property and updating the esthetiques of the house.  We (I mean Josh and Kellen) have also been clearing out the woods by our stream. I wanted to post some pictures to show everyone we love our new place until the weather gets better and the house is settled more. I plan on showing some renovation pictures soon.
